Wingdust Collections, part 2!

Today I'm happy to bring you four beautiful glitter bombs from Wingdust Collections!

I released part 1 of this collection a few weeks ago, and had planned on getting the second part out shortly thereafter. Unfortunately things got a bit hectic due to the holidays... but I am so glad to be showing you these four pretties today! In the past few days I have been slamming the coffee and working hard to get caught up for the New Year!

Relevant, I swear!

First up is Summer Storm, a soft grey crelly with purple, pink, blue and silver glitter of various shapes and sizes!

One of the things I liked best about this polish was that the nail is not overwhelmed with glitter, something that can be hard to balance with the larger glitters. This, and all polishes reviewed today, definitely demanded the dab and brush method of application, but with a little practice it is easy enough to get a smooth, even look! I used a coat of Seche Vite Fast dry topcoat, which helped the polish dry pretty quickly! What you see here is three thin layers, though I might have gotten away with 2.

Oh Garfield - your love for coffee almost eclipses your lasagna devotion. Almost! Bean me is a coffee colored jelly base absolutely packed with glitters. Talk about a caffeine rush!

In order to support high quantities of glitter, you will often find the base to be a little thicker. This is where the dab and brush method to have the highest payoff! I like to put on a tv show or movie, apply one layer and let it dry for a few moments before going in for the second. It helps prevent dragging and goopiness, and gives you a good idea of how many layers you will ultimately need! I used just two to achieve this mani. Since it is a little thicker, definitely allow a little extra time for drying - though with Seche it was still less than 3 minutes. Despite the different shapes and sizes of glitter, I was pleased to see that Bean me dried smoothly!

Next up is I Ain't No Angel, which turned out to be my absolute favorite of these four!

A more opaque blue jelly base with small square, hex and large holo circle glitter, Ain't No Angel is dazzling on the nail! The payoff of glitter per "dab" was excellent, with easy dispersal and a smooth finish. I used two generous dabbed layers to achieve this, with no fishing necessary to get the holo circles. Seche Vite made dry time a breeze. If you only were to get one polish from Wingdust in the near future, I would highly recommend giving this one a try!

Last but certainly not least, Somewhere Out There is a berry colored jelly base with holo and metallic glitters in circles, hex, crescent moons and many different sizes!

I love the look of a strong holo glitter peeking out from layers of jelly. This polish manages to have great depth and opaqueness while still being sheer. I used two dabbed layers to achieve the look here, though I did debate a third. I love the berry stain base, it's a great look and a nice hybrid between red, pink and purple! I think this polish would have benefited from a glitter smoothing topcoat, though it wasn't terribly uneven. In my experience, the uncommon glitter shapes don't lay as flat on my nail shape, but I do have fairly curved nails!

I hope I piqued your interest - I can't wait to see what new creations Wingdust comes out with in 2014!
